The idea behind this project is to search the web for images that have been tagged with the owner's domain, and compare that domain to the one on which they are currently displayed. If there is a match, the site is displaying it's own image, if not the image may have been stolen from the owner's site and there is a possible copyright violation.

You can tag your images without signing up with the bot, just put your domain name in the Copyright Notice field using Photoshop before putting the image online. If you want to put other text in the same field, make sure your domain name appears first in the field so Egami Bot can find it easily. Also your domain name in the tag should be in the format "domain.com" leaving out the 'http://' and the 'www' this allows for a more broad match between your image and your domain and makes it less likely that you will get an email that you stole your own image. The results of the Egami Bot crawl are displayed on the image theft page on this site.

If you want to be notified by Egami Bot when your image is found on another site, use the form below to submit your domain/email combination for the bot. Then if your image is found you will be notified immediately. Also, if the use of your image on the other site is acceptable, please come back and let us know so we can take the link to that site off of our "suspected sites" list.
